Miller's Services invites local Virginia students—whether public, private, or homeschooled—to apply for our Skilled Trades Bootcamp, a one-week paid externship designed to give you real-world experience in plumbing, HVAC, electrical, and more.

What Is The Skilled Trades Bootcamp Experience?
Participants will engage in a rotation encompassing all four trades offered by Miller's Services, spending one day with each specialization: HVAC, Plumbing, Electrical, and Septic.
- Arrive on-site at Miller's Services’s Warehouse at 6:45 am daily
- Meet and depart with your assigned Miller's Services’s Mentor for the day
- Ride with your mentor to all assigned jobs for the day
- Return to Miller's Services’s Warehouse once all jobs are completed
- Full day-in-the-life experiences with a trained service expert in the trades of HVAC, Plumbing, Electrical, and Septic
- A hands-on opportunity to help define your future career pathway
- An insider view of the Miller's Services System model and the important role each team member plays in the success of a business with 100+ employees offering whole-home services to homeowners all over eastern Virginia
Attention all rising seniors! Miller's Services is excited to invite students from diverse educational backgrounds – whether you’re attending a public, private, or homeschool program – to participate in our esteemed Skilled Trades Bootcamp. This immersive program offers invaluable insights and hands-on experience in HVAC, Plumbing, Electrical, & Septic services.

- The student must be a rising high school senior (public, private, or homeschooled) who is at least 17 years of age by July 10, 2026.
- The student must have their own transportation and a personal phone for communication purposes. While the start time each day is consistently 6:45 am, the end time is not. A student with a driver’s license and personal vehicle is ideal.
- The student must be able to commit to full-time hours during the week of the Skilled Trades Bootcamp. If the student holds existing employment, they will need to be excused from working hours during the dates of the bootcamp.

After participating, students are notified of their selection, and a WBL Externship Agreement will be emailed to committed participants. This document is a mandatory requirement for participation in the Miller's Services Skilled Trades Bootcamp. It must be signed by a school administrator, a parent/guardian, and the student participant and turned in on the first day of the bootcamp.
